Daniel Di Martino: Economics of Immigration

May 7, 2026

Daniel Di Martino
Daniel Di Martino is an economist and public policy fellow focused on immigration, labor markets, and economic growth. He is a Ph.D. candidate in economics at Columbia University and a Graduate Fellow at the Manhattan Institute, where his research examines how immigration policy affects work, assimilation, and economic outcomes.

Born and raised in Venezuela, he experienced the impact of socialism firsthand and immigrated to the United States in 2016. His work draws on that experience to analyze Venezuela’s economic collapse and advocate for policies that support opportunity, lawful immigration, and institutional stability.

He is the founder of the Dissident Project, a speaker, and a frequent media contributor appearing on outlets such as Fox News and CNN. In his work and public talks, he argues that immigration is a major economic asset when it is orderly, skill-based, and oriented toward integration into American civic and economic life.
