His work has appeared in The New York TimesThe Wall Street JournalThe Atlantic, and The Free Press. At UATX, he serves as a Visiting Professor, engaging students in rigorous, open debate on some of today’s most contested questions.

A statistician and economist by training, Carlos left a tenured chair to help build a new kind of university—one grounded in merit, intellectual rigor, and the fearless pursuit of truth. As President of UATX, he is leading the creation of an institution that pairs serious engagement with the Western intellectual tradition with a spirit of innovation and ambition. Under his leadership, UATX is developing programs that challenge students not only to think deeply, but to build, experiment, and contribute meaningfully to the country’s future.
